FAQ: What is a Diverter Valve and what should I do if it is sticking?

A Diverter Valve is a part within the boiler that helps your product switch between hot water and the central heating in your home.

If the Diverter Valve has become 'sticky' or if it has jammed, this can cause an issue and stop the boiler from being able to switch between those functions

(for example; heating and no hot water or hot water and no heating)

or your boiler may stop working altogether!

A broken Diverter Valve will require a replacement and it will need replacing with a part that is specifically designed for your boiler.

If you have this issue, please ensure that you use a Gas Safe registered engineer to fix this issue.
